Moving on from Bunraku for a bit….

Today, we decided to move on from Bunraku for a bit! Only temporarily though. Instead, we looked at suggested audition pieces for NIDA, to decide what our next unit would be on. Differences in our performance of The Love Suicides at Sonezaki and A traditional Bunraku performance:

There are less performers
There is no shamisen.
Ours doesn’t have a traditional set design.
Puppets are made from different materials and aren’t exact size.
Our script is an abridged version.
We do not have a traditional narrator who can do the voice gestures.
