IPP and RI

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 27, 2009

Just a short update on both the IPP and the RI:
For my IPP, I will be focusing on Multimedia, which is sound effects, projection, backdrops with the use of projection, PowerPoint slideshows and other things like that J. Basically anything multimedia that is in our performance!

For my RI, I will be reading Ghosts by Henrik [...]

Kerrianne and Marianne!

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 27, 2009

Today in Theatre, we worked on our infomercial scenes for our IPP. We worked on:

the Proacne scene, where it was a live feed from the studio to the infomercial interview, which didn’t involve me leaving the studio.

The doona cover scene, where I physically interviewed Linda. I had to leave the studio and walk over [...]

IPP preparation

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 25, 2009

Today for our double period, we worked out what costumes, props, sounds, and multimedia we need for each scene. Kate prepared a really well organised handout with a scene per page. This gave us space to write down what was needed for each scene, and any other general ideas we had. We decided today that [...]

Prosthetics and makeup!

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 23, 2009

Today was a very fun, informative double lesson! Ms Flood got her friend Lee, who is a makeup artist, to come into class to teach us about makeup and prosthetics, which involves bloods, burns, bruises, and all that fun gruesome stuff. Kate was being the secondary makeup artist today, as her focus in the IPP [...]

Animals and Laban

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 23, 2009

We began the class by meditating, which was really relaxing once again, however I didn’t feel as relaxed afterwards as usual. I think I was just really tired! We then went onto a small vocal warm up which involved clapping our hands and saying the alphabet. We decided who said the next letter by making [...]

More IPP and a hint of Burlesque.

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 18, 2009

Today, Theatre was a tiny bit disrupted with a potential virus/bug going around in our class, hopefully not though! While Kate and Ronelle were at sick bay, I talked to Ms Flood about my RI. I’m thinking of doing something related to burlesque, so I will have to look into that! When Ronelle and Kate [...]

IPP work

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 16, 2009

Today in Theatre, we began with meditation, which really helped relax me and it cleared my mind and helped me focus on today’s task, which involved looking at all our individual scenes and put them into piles of “yes”, & “maybe”, which was rather a tough decision but helped made me realise which scenes we [...]

Inspired

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 12, 2009

Yesterday was a very inspiring day. We began our double with meditation to get us relaxed and to prepare our minds for the class. I feel meditation really helps relaxes me and I look forward to as I feel a small break does the world of good.

We began by discussing the due date for our [...]

Expressionism in Theatre

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 9, 2009

http://www.tiscali.co.uk/reference/encyclopaedia/hutchinson/m0097410.html

“Expressionism attempts to portray the inner workings of a person’s mind by, effectively, turning them ‘inside out’ and allowing mental states to shape their face, body, and even the world in which they live.”

In theatre:

expressionism results in a drama of social protest,

The outer world takes second place to the inner turmoil experienced by the main [...]

Directing

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 9, 2009

After an extremely hectic weekend with the bushfires near home, we started off today with a much needed, much appreciated meditation session. It helped relaxed me a lot, and relieved a lot of the tension left over from the weekend. My mind felt a lot clearer and I was focused on the upcoming task.

Ms Flood [...]
