IPP preparation

Posted by: Ashleigh on: February 25, 2009

Today for our double period, we worked out what costumes, props, sounds, and multimedia we need for each scene. Kate prepared a really well organised handout with a scene per page. This gave us space to write down what was needed for each scene, and any other general ideas we had. We decided today that my Kangaroo character should have a very strong Australian accent, which I think will be a challenge for me as I don’t think I have a strong accent. I think I need to watch more Kath and Kim! We also came up with a few more ideas, such as random animal sounds throughout the performance, to give it an extra bit of quirk. I really like this idea as I think it will add to the humour of the performance also.

To help with my organisation/ time management with this performance, I have created a excel spreadsheet so I can tick off multimedia items once I have organised them. This will help me keep track of what needs to be done.

I’m really excited about this performance and I’m excited about researching my RI. I know I am researching problem plays, and Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen will be the play I am applying my research to. I’m thinking I will research set design or costume. As I think these two aspects are important to portraying the problem of STDs.

I’m also looking forward to seeing the significance of the costumes and set design for our performance.
